Lisa Wall

I am a fully qualified teacher and have been teaching for 30 years, 15 as a primary school class teacher and the rest as a music teacher. I offer schools curriculum music teaching, WCET teaching in all brass instruments and the clarinet/Dood as well as small group teaching and individual lessons on brass, clarinet and piano/keyboard instruments. I am the brass tutor with the Bushall Children’s Orchestra, Newton Abbot. I have worked with Kip Pratt and Elvyn Jones on composition pieces with children, alongside Plymouth university.

For 12 years, I have been a member of Teachers Rock, an educational choir for educators and children, taking a school choir to sing with TR at Exeter Cathedral, leading the children’s Torbay Teacher’s Rock group in Exeter University Great Hall and also singing at Abbey Road Studios in London in a recording session.

Jane Anderson-Brown

I am a qualified classroom music teacher with a master’s degree in music performance (singing). I have been teaching for over 20 years in Surrey, Hampshire and Devon at both primary and secondary level. I have over 10 years experience of teaching WCET flutes, clarinets, jsaxes, recorders and fifes.
Over the last 14 years I have worked as a peripatetic music teacher in several schools in Torbay and South Devon and also worked as a tutor/conductor for the Torbay and South Devon Music centre for several years.
I have a private teaching practice at home, and have run a number of adult choirs, musical theatre groups and am the director of Red Earth Opera. I also run singing masterclasses and workshops.

Steve Buckley

I have over thirty years of experience working as both a performer and music educator at a high professional level. For the last five years I have been working for the Bromley Youth Music Trust (BYMT) as a licensed peripatetic instrumental teacher working in several secondary and primary schools. I have also worked for BYMT as one of the Jazz School tutors and also as part of the Band on the Run scheme running beginner ensembles. I continue to be a visiting tutor at The Royal Academy, Trinity Laban and Guildhall music schools. Between 2010 and 2018 I lived and worked in Devon as a peripatetic instrumental and music ensemble teacher in several schools in the South Hams and Teignbridge areas. I was one of the tutors involved in assisting Andy Tyner with the Bushell Youth Communty Orchestra.

Nicholas Bryant

I have been a professional pianist and violist with the Collaborative Orchestra, best known for reaching the semifinals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2016 and I come from a teaching position at St David’s primary in West Wickham, London. Before becoming a music teacher, I was a professional actor with singing and acting credits for professional touring productions. I teach piano, violin, viola and cello, beginner classical guitar and classical and musical theatre singing as well as choirs, and youth music groups such as bamd, orchestra and ukelele. I live in Chagford, West Devon and teach in local schools with some availability after school in the evenings.

Andrew Collis

Andrew is a virtuoso recorder player and has been a finalist in major competitions and performed at prestigious venues across the UK including St John’s Smith Square and the Barbican. Festival appearances include the Brighton, Birmingham and Cheltenham International Festivals.

He studied with Paul Clark in Birmingham and Philip Thorby at Trinity College of Music before further studies with Eve O’Kelly. His critically acclaimed CDs “Exposure” and “Fusion” combine a wide range of musical styles and premiere recordings. Andrew has commissioned new works from British composers for his Early music group The Stanesby Players and has appeared as part of contemporary music series.

Performances abroad include Malaysia and Australia. As an examiner for Trinity and an adjudicator he has worked in the UK and worldwide. He is in demand as a tutor on a variety of courses and has taught in primary, secondary and adult education. He conducts the Exeter Recorder Orchestra and coaches ensembles around the UK. Online recitals and workshops are now part of his portfolio. He was been active in promoting and supporting younger recorder players through his charity work and competition organisation.
